All sporting and leisure activities have inherent hazards associated with them and
rambling is no exception. In spite of the safety of members being of paramount concern,
accidents will occasionally occur. It is important, therefore that when entering into the activity,
each member appreciates that they have a responsibility to identify the hazards associated
the activity and take all reasonable steps to eliminate or minimise the potential for an
accident to arise.

Walkers must wear suitable footwear and clothing, carry enough food and drink and carry
a small First Aid pack. You should also carry some form of identification and
telephone contact numbers in case of accident. Walk leaders will usually carry cards that can
be used for this purpose.

Newcomers are welcome and those who walk regularly are expected to join the Ramblers'
Association.
